Katie was born and raised in Canterbury & knew from an early age that she loved to act and perform. Destined for The Biz her big break came when attempts to sell double glazing to a cruise ship director landed her a contract sailing the Aegean Sea working as a light entertainer rather than any commission from the conservatory she had been trying to sell him!
Katie has undertaken wealth of training on a variety of professional courses including a Degree in Performing Arts from Christchurch University.
As a performer she has had a varied and notable career. Appearing in commercials, short films, and plays. A keen writer and director she ran her own production company producing murder mystery events all over the South East and was involved with a team of writers producing a radio comedy series.
Katie is married to Tyrone and the proud Mother of twins Ava and Lucas (12) and has 2 dogs 1 cat and 2 horses which keeps her busy.
Although still a keen performer herself her focus is now on teaching and encouraging confidence and the joy of performing to others.
Before having the twins Katie spent two years working as a foster carer. During this time, she attended many workshops and courses on young people’s behaviour, emotions and development which has proved to be invaluable when working with young people in class settings too. Driven by passion she also worked as a learning support assistant with refugee children. Using performing arts to enrich the lives of children and young people.
Katie joined Flair as the drama teacher in January 2019 when the Sunday stage school was launched. Katie is a LAMDA accredited teacher and will be offering 1-1 LAMDA Exam classes in the new year.
Katie is extremely excited to be the new Head of Acting Academy at Flair Performing Arts which will be launching very soon. Watch this space!
