Yasmin was born and raised in Maidstone to former professional dancer Lynn, and professional drummer Bert. Performing arts is in her blood!
Enjoying dance classes from the age of 4 until leaving school, Yasmin then realised that behind the scenes was more her thing. On leaving Maidstone Grammar School for Girls, she went on to complete a Degree in Event Management at Leeds Metropolitan University.
From there, Yasmin worked in a number of roles in Events, Community and the Arts, gaining a range of valuable skills along the way.
Yasmin loves a bit of entrepreneurship and has experience in roles you wouldn’t imagine! …you may have seen her in a field getting messy with paint and frisbees, running Spin Art Magic? Or delivering Arts and Crafts Workshops in the community? Or perhaps you’ve had your face painted by her?
Yasmin has spent many a summer on her aunt and uncle’s Sheep Farm, developing her sheep shearing, trailer manoeuvring, fence building and landscaping skills! And more recently, Yasmin has been supporting her husband’s food business Hosken’s Home Bakes – literally having fingers in lots of pies!
There’s never a dull day in Yasmin’s world!
Alongside all this, Yasmin is married to the wonderful Glen and she is sleep deprived mother to her two small people Autumn (4) and Felix (1.5). She is also a Flair Mum, as Autumn’s been dancing with Flair since she was just 22 months old!
Yasmin also loves a good sing-song and spent six years as part of local Community Choir; Energize, and was an early member of local rocksteady band The Scorchers.
All of these random skills put together allows Yasmin to be Lucy’s right hand woman in managing the operations of Flair, keeping the cogs well oiled and helping to scope and develop the future of the wonderful Flair Performing Arts.
