Hazlitt Show 19th July 2026

A one-off, non-refundable Show Participation Fee of £35 is chargeable per performer. This covers insurance, licence and administration costs and costume costs. Please note some additional items will be provided by the students themselves (see Costumes below).

For students in more than one class, there is a charge of £17.50 for each additional class (towards the additional costs of costumes and music licences). 

Show fees will be collected from your bank via the usual collection method. We will advise you via the Flair WhatsApp Community Group when we call the payments and on what date they will debit from your account.

Please note these fees are NOT for tickets which must be purchased from the Hazlitt Box Office (see below).

The dress rehearsal will take place at the Hazlitt Theatre in the morning on the show day itself shortly after they arrive. It will give performers a chance to have a run through on the stage and to settle their nerves ahead of an exciting day of performances.

Tickets are priced at £22 with concessions £20 and under 2’s free on laps.

Tickets went on sale online and over the phone on Wednesday 10th June 2025, at 10:30 via the Hazlitt Theatre Box Office and the following this link on the Hazlitt website.

Performers do not keep costume items we provide; they remain the property of Flair, and we reuse them in the future for other shows, helping reduce show participation costs.​​

Individual classes may also be asked to bring specific items (for example a school shirt or vest top), students will be notified directly if this is the case for them.

​

All students require their class uniform in addition to the items that we provide and should arrive to the show in their uniform. If they take both Street and Ballet & Tap they can wear either uniform to arrive in.​

​

• Street Dance: Flair t-shirt, plain black shorts (or leggings or joggers - though it will be warm so shorts are advisable), plain white socks, black jazz shoes or plimsolls.

• Ballet & Tap: Full class uniform including tap shoes and ballet slippers with ballet socks (regulation examination style).

Please ensure underwear is worn beneath leotards on they have costume changes during the show. Older students may also prefer to have base items; such as a flesh coloured vest top beneath their costume. Please also consider the visibility of underwear; black bras often show through the costumes of older dancers.

Longer hair should be worn in two french plaits on either side of the head. We recommend using hairspray or other fixing products to help hold it in place. ​

If your hair is too short please style it neatly and ensure that it is secured back off the face.

​

Some parents over the years have booked hairdresser appointments in the morning before the call time to get their performers hair done to remove that task from their fingertips! However there are loads of members of our backstage team are dab hands at this hairstyle now and can help tidy, or indeed fully do, the hair of anyone who struggles with doing french plaits.​

You will need to arrive at the show in your Flair Uniform (if you do more than one class, wear one uniform and have the other neatly folded in your bag).

Make sure your clothes are clean and pressed, and if you have been asked to provide items for the costume, ensure you have them.

​

Bring a packed lunch and plenty of snacks and drinks to stay energised and hydrated. You may also wish to bring a handheld fan (at your own risk) as it will be hot backstage.​

​

The show day is fast-paced, and there is very little time to sit around, so performers won’t need much to occupy them. Dressing rooms can be quite chaotic places, and things get lost easily so don't bring too much.

​

Children/young people are not permitted to have mobile phones backstage due to child protection and safeguarding measures.
